Every January we hear the same thing from sellers: "I should have started my Q4 setup earlier." So here is the checklist, published in August, when it actually helps.

WHY AUGUST MATTERS IN PRINT ON DEMAND

Q4 is when most t-shirt sellers make 40 to 60 percent of their annual revenue. Halloween designs start selling in September. Christmas designs start selling the first week of November. Marketplace algorithms need weeks to rank a new listing, so a design uploaded November 20 misses most of the season no matter how good it is. Work backward from that and August is not early, it is on time.

THE CHECKLIST

  1. Audit last year's winners first. Your own sales data beats any trend report. Anything that sold last Q4 gets refreshed and relisted now, seasonal designs build ranking history year over year.
  2. Get your fall and holiday designs uploaded by mid September. On Tshirtgang you can publish one design across 19 marketplaces (Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Walmart, Shopify and more) from one dashboard, so the same upload session covers every storefront you run.
  3. Order samples of your best sellers now, not in October. Whatever your fulfillment source, verify print quality and blank consistency before peak volume hits. Our production runs on a 1 business day turnaround year round, but your listing photos and quality checks should be done in the quiet season.
  4. Check your pricing against your real costs. Our Gildan 5000 runs $8 with the print included, the Comfort Colors 1717 is $13.50, and shipping is flat rate with additional items free. Know your margin per marketplace after fees before the volume arrives, not after.
  5. Diversify beyond one marketplace. Every year some sellers get a suspension, a policy change, or an algorithm shift on their main channel right before peak. Sellers listed on three or more marketplaces sail through what sinks single channel stores.
  6. Plan your cutoff messaging. Printed in North America means realistic Christmas cutoffs in mid December instead of November, but publish your dates clearly in your listings once carriers announce theirs.

ONE MORE THING

If you need proven design inspiration, browse the random funny stuff category in the Tshirtgang marketplace. Humor tees are the most reliable Q4 gift category we see across our whole platform, year after year.
